Subject: Commanding Officers Meeting

Captain’s Duty Log:  At a meeting this morning, the local commanding officers, currently stationed in the Solar System, discussed the frequency the USS Alaster intercepted in great detail. Taking all the current information to the local Admiral, we were granted full command ship authorization to take full custody of the investigation into these matters. Also at the meeting I was informed that the USS Alaster was fully supplied and would be ready for departure tomorrow morning. Presently I am planning on leaving Tranquility Base tomorrow morning to gather samples near Jupiter before going on our mission to retrieve the Icarus probe.  

UPDATE: The original plan to depart may be interrupted. At 7:30pm last night another transmission was sent from the same creature as before. The effects of the gamma radiation were this time concentrated to the medical bay around  patient room 001, housing PO3 Danny Talyard, being treated for endocarditis. On his hands appeared two radiation burns matching the symbols A and P on the Enochian site. After the departments present their findings here in this log, we will begin to sort out exactly what happened and develop a comprehensive theory and plan of action.

Head Physician Duty Log: I am writing to report my witness account of the events that occurred around 19:30 hours the previous night. The day before, PO3 Talyard was admitted to sick bay with symptoms indicating a serious illness. After the results of a blood draw and an EKG reading confirmed bacterial endocarditis as a secondary illness, he was administered intense antimicrobial therapy that was planned to be carried out over the appropriate time. I also ordered an ultrasound be conducted to determine the course of the illness and thus administer the appropriate treatment. Around 19:30 hours on the 16 of June, a member of my medical team suddenly alerted me to a shocking problem. PO3 Talyard appeared to have somehow acquired burns on his hands. Quickly we attributed the cause of this to dangerous exposure to radiation. Immediately my team and I set to work securing the patient in a safe area free from exposure, and the sick bay was then locked down until the source of the radiation could be identified and the problem resolved. PO3 Talyard is currently being treated for the burns and the illness and reports show improvement in his overall condition.

Chief Engineering Duty Log: The day started as normal with routine scans picking up nothing abnormal all day until PO3 Danny “Boy” Talyard was admitted into sick bay. At this point abnormal radiation levels were being picked up from the communications terminal in medbay. At this point med bay was sealed and the ship was scanned for any other traces of radiation. After finding no traces of radiation all comms terminals were put under containment fields for the safety of the crew. Also comms has been put under lock down with the access code *REDACTED*.   Comms will be on lockdown until the captain or myself has lifted the lockdown.

Chief of Communications Log: We’ve completed a translation program for the language known as Enochian. It was put to the test when another transmission from the same creatures came through, although this time its origins were around Saturn. "The mark has been set. The victim has been sought.” No sooner was the message forwarded to the captain than we received orders to close down all communications terminals. As the situation escalated, I issued an order to lock down the entire deck until we received the all clear from engineering.

Subject: The Hunt for the Great White Gamma Radiation Space Whale: The Plan

Current Location: ISS Tranquility Base

• PO3 Matt O’Sullivan

Helms Duty Log: The following constitutes the plan we have developed for enticing, engaging, and ensnaring the Enochian that is currently lumbering through space around Jupiter and Saturn. Based upon our hypothesis that the Enochian is capable of specifically targeting PO3 Danny “Boy” Talyard, the first step of action is to bait the Enochian. To do this, we shall inject a fetal pig with both gamma radiation and PO3 Talyard’s DNA. We shall then place the pig in the . . . . . . Once we have enticed the Enochian with the bait, we shall blast it with tremendous amounts of gamma radiation in order to over feed it. If all goes as planned, the Enochian will ‘sleep off’ its large ‘meal’ of gamma radiation. At that point, we will release several satellite relays and position them around the subdued Enochian. These relays will be equipped with shield emitters capable of linking up with one another. They will project a . . . shield around the Enochain, at which point we hope to contain the creature and then determine a way to transport it to a location where it can stand trial.

Chief of Negotiations Duty Log:  While Comms is in lockdown PO1 Timmons gave out an assignment to start reading Edward Kelly’s Journal while she reads John Dee’s and find more out about the “Language of the Angels”.  As of now the journal doesn’t make much sense but PO1 Timmons and I will be switching journals to see if there is a key to figuring out the nonsense that is included in said journals.  On June 17th 3:29 PM Ship time we received notice that an unauthorized attempt to access communications terminal B-17. Said attempt was unsuccessful due to the fact that Engineering still had Communications under lockdown.  After some deliberation we have determined a course of action.  We will first contact the Enochian requesting it stands down.  If said requests are not heeded we will follow the course of action detailed in PO3 Matt O’Sullivan’s Log.  Communications will be in charge of making sure all messages get to the Enochian including the one with the “Bait”.  Communications is continuing to stay on lockdown until we are prepared to send the message to the Enochian and then will be put back on lockdown as soon as the message is sent.
